Pororó
Montevideo, Uruguay/San Pablo, Brasil
2018

Pororó is a series of conferences organized by MAPA. A platform to learn, spread and discuss issues related to architecture, design and the city.

Pororó is a series of conferences organized by MAPA with already more than 15 editions. With guests from various fields and nationalities, it aims to be a platform to meet, spread and discuss issues related to architecture, design and the city. Both MAPA offices in Montevideo and Porto Alegre open their doors to receive students, professionals, stakeholders and friends. Pororó, therefore, is an instance to enjoy together the reflection on what we are building and constructing collectively.

In 2018, there were 6 editions of Pororó. Francesco Perrotta-Bosch (Brazil) spoke about his experience as an essayist, critic and curator of architecture. Visual artist Paola Monzillo (Uruguay) shared her works with cartographies and imaginaries. Then we welcomed architects Daniella Urrutia and Marcelo Gualano (Uruguay) as they presented their home in Punta Rubia, their work together and the dialogue that it establishes with their professional trajectories. On the following edition, the conference was accompanied by music as producer Ino Guridi (Uruguay) traced the recent history of the link between music and architectural production. Architect Eron Costin (Brazil), from Estudio 41, showed his award-winning work in various architectural competitions. We concluded the series with Ignacio Fleurquin and Ana García Ricci (Argentina) on their urban planning and landscape design projects at Bulla Studio.
