Pororó
Montevideo, Uruguay
2017

Pororó is a series of conferences organized by MAPA. A platform to learn, spread and discuss issues related to architecture, design and the city.

Pororó is a series of conferences organized by MAPA with already more than 15 editions. With guests from various fields and nationalities, it aims to be a platform to meet, spread and discuss issues related to architecture, design and the city. Both MAPA offices in Montevideo and Porto Alegre open their doors to receive students, professionals, stakeholders and friends. Pororó, therefore, is an instance to enjoy together the reflection on what we are building and constructing collectively.

In 2017, there were 6 editions of Pororó. Architect David Barragán (Ecuador) presented the work of Alborde, his practice focused on social integration through architecture and culture. Then we received Leonardo Finotti (Brazil), an internationally recognized architecture photographer. We welcomed Jackson Araújo (Brazil), specialist in creative mentoring on fashion innovation and sustainability. Nair Hid Ahmed (Argentina) and Andrés Richero (Uruguay), user experience designers, spoke about the relationship between people and the digital environment. Emeritus architect and professor Conrado Pintos (Uruguay) presented his recent work and discussed the current condition of Uruguayan architecture. Finally, architect Héctor Vigliecca (Uruguay) shared his extensive work in Brazil and Uruguay and his point of view on the link between music, literature and architecture.
