Bank of Brazil Headquarters
Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil
2002

This intervention stands out by its new treatment towards an existing building and the creation of new architectural elements. The challenge was to create a new atmosphere for the parking area, used mainly by company officials.

The reformulation of collective spaces for the headquarters of the Bank of Brazil, in Porto Alegre, was designed by Studio Parallelo together with architect Marcelo Pontes.

This intervention stands out by its new treatment towards an existing building and the creation of new architectural elements. The challenge was to create a new atmosphere for the parking area, used mainly by company officials. For this, it was necessary to establish a new arrangement in its distribution to optimize the space, increase the number of vacancies and create a small place for people to rest in their spare time. The idea was based on the need to humanize this area since only aside from early mornings and late in the afternoons (when the parking lot is the busiest), it is considered a quiet place.
